Parish Council Goals |
The object of the Parish Council shall be to carry out duties of the parish as requested be the pastor and the members of the parish. The members accept the responsibility with the pastor for the life and mission of the church and to assist the pastor in the administration of the parish through recommendations and active cooperation. They act as a representative voice of the people of the parish to the pastor. The Council attempts to provide an open and honest forum of communication and dialogue regarding parish affairs to all members of the parish. The members of the Council attempt to be visible witness to all people of the message and service of Our Lord Jesus. |
To accomplish these goals the Council tries to determine the needs, spiritual and temporal, of the parish and its people and seek resources to meet these needs. It provides for the dignified and reverent celebration of the Sacred Liturgy in cooperation with the pastor. It reviews and approves the proposed budgets for all parish funds and provides for the preparation of an overall budget for the parish. It determines ways of increasing parish income and reducing expenditures where appropriate and implements those decisions. It sees to the maintenance of parish property and undertakes any improvement necessary with approval of the Bishop. |
